A very cute set! Exactly 27 blocks can fit inside the cube case. That means if you like you can make an extra block which I did to have a few extra letters. The letter cubes also have 2 extra sides which I used to add a lower case letter to one side and the word of the picture on the remaining side (for example, on the "L" block there was a picture of a ladybug, I included the word "ladybug" on one of the blank sides. I did this to increase the educational value for kids that are learning to read. For longer words, I put them on 10 mesh canvas and attached that to the side. This is a great project if you already have a lot of colored plastic canvas sheets that you can use up. I didn't follow the colors exactly, I just used what I had and thought would look good together. Use colors your kids (or the kids in your life) will like! I get compliments on this set all the time. It seems like a long project to start, and it is, it took me about 3 months, but once your case is done and you start making the letter cubes the kids will start playing with it right away. I am pretty busy and I could do a cube in an evening if I wanted to. My kids enjoyed discovering which blocks had been added to the set each week and often requested that the letter to their name be completed next!
